Blog-tember, Day 2: September Goals

It wouldn't be the start of a new month without a goal post, would it? Even with the Blog-tember Challenge, I wanted to give everyone a chance to share what they want to make happen in the MIDST of the challenge this month. Each month I share my new goals along with the old to have some accountability along the way.

September 2: Share a list of your current goals.

Making August Happen
Verse of the month: Isaiah 40:31
"But those who wait for the Lord [who expect, look for, and hope in Him] shall change and renew their strength and power; they shall lift their wings and mount up [close to God] as eagles [mount up to the sun]; they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint or become tired."

1. Move to my new city! Done! I really can't believe I'm here! What a whirlwind.
2. Start my first year teaching! Ooh y'all. My first two weeks have been full of high-highs and low-lows, and you have no idea how excited I am for this three day weekend. My advanced theatre students have been so encouraging, and we start our first show next week. Ah!
3. The Contentment Challenge. Fo'real. This is embarrassing. Just straight up embarrassing.
4. Visit churches/life groupsDone and done! I've been to church twice and lifegroup twice, and I have to say I'm loving it. It has been so great to find community, especially a group of teachers my age from my school that also go to ACC.
5. Illustrate my faith. Oh yes. How refreshing this has been! It was so important to me to unpack my Bible journaling materials early on, and I've definitely dug into them a few times..
6. Read 5+ booksWell, two plays and half a book made the list. I started The Power of Habits, but didn't finish, though I did read two plays: Proof and Silent Sky. So those totally count.
7. Plan The 3rd Annual Blog-tember Challenge. It's here, it's here! Two days down, twenty eight to go.
8. Ketogenic eating + yoga. I kept up with it for a good long while, but I've fallen off the bandwagon the last week or so. It really makes such a difference so I don't know why I forget and quit.
9. Start a prayer plannerThis might be my new favorite thing. Documenting prayers and praises in my Illustrated Faith planner is so refreshing! I wrote specific prayers for each day and illustrate them throughout the week. I'm sure you'll be seeing more of this soon, but catch a glimpse HERE and HERE.

Making September Happen
Verse of the month: Isaiah 40:31
"But those who wait for the Lord [who expect, look for, and hope in Him] shall change and renew their strength and power; they shall lift their wings and mount up [close to God] as eagles [mount up to the sun]; they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint or become tired."

1. Host The Blog-tember Challenge! Here we go! Two days in and it's already off to a great start. I should really make this goal "stay ahead of The Blog-tember Challenge" so I have the umph to get all my posts scheduled early/on time. Every year something has come up at least one day to get me behind or delayed a few hours, but not this year!
2. Direct my first HS show! Because naturally some significant project/event must happen in the Challenge each year ;) Our fall show begins next week with auditions, then we go straight into rehearsals. We perform the second week of October, so we'll be going, going, going strong this month! Wish me luck (or say break a leg!).
3. Create a budget. Payday is around the corner! No really, I don't get my first teaching paycheck until this month... so once I do it's time to put a plan into place. I want to be responsible with my money, pay my bills on time, save for an upcoming adventure, and start paying off some debt. If you have any recommendations for saving/reaching financial goals/budgeting send them my way!
4. Break up with the snooze button. It's been a goal of mine for a while to set solid morning and evening routines, and a MAJOR part of the morning routine needs to be breaking up with my snooze button. I'm trying a 30 day no-snooze challenge using the Kiwake app, so I'll let you know how it goes!
5. Finish unpacking and organizing. I've been in my apartment for just under a month (which is insane to me!) and there is still plenty of work to do. Piece by piece it has been coming together, but this month I want to get the last of it packed and organized.
6. Read 5+ books. If I want to meet my goal of 52 books in 52 weeks, I need to get back at it! I've read 45 so far, and my list this month includes: The Circle Maker, Without Rival, Present Over Perfect, Uninvited, and Play with Fire
7. Co-host the Daughters of Grace Study. AI have had the joy and honor of being a brad rep for Kristen Schmucker's Shop and to have written for the Be Still Magazine that came out earlier this summer. Up next is an online Bible study co-hosted by myself and a few other sweet gals going through the Daughters of Grace study recently released. Check it out!.
8. Ketogenic eating + yoga. I may or may not have had oreos for dinner, but now that those are gone I can get back to clean eating, right? ;). It's time to get back on track and try some new recipes.
9. Continue with my prayer & praise planner. Yes, oh yes! I just love this one! My Illustrated Faith planner has been so encouraging to work through and look back on already!  I still need to pick a theme for this month, and I think it's going to be heart healthy habits. Be on the look out for more details soon!!

New routines, here I come!
So what are YOUR goals for the month?
What do you want to make happen this September?

...the text in this post is all kinds of crazy, I know. Random colors, sizes, etc. Oops.
