BLOG-TEMBER DAY 6 | Share Your Style

Fall is two weeks away, y'all! TWO WEEKS! With that on my mind, it should come as no surprise to you that today's topic has ended up all about my fall favorites. I'm daydreaming the Oklahoma heat away, ready for leggings, boots, scarves, and imagining the trees on campus changing color. We've also made it almost a week through the challenge! Way to go, y'all!

Sunday, September 6: Share your style. What fashion trends do you love, frequent, or avoid?

Looking at this collage make me all giddy inside. Forget the fact that it's in the 90s today. Fall is my mindset when I think about my wardrobe. Maybe that's why I like Seattle so much; it was jeans, boots, and sweater legging most of the year!  I included the messy bun as a bit of wishful thinking. It was my FAVORITE way to wear my hair last year, but I cut it all off above my shoulders for a play in the spring, and it hasn't quite grown enough to make one happen. But we'll get there. Maybe by Christmas! *fingers crossed*

When it comes to my style, I stick to the staples. My closet is 75% black/navy blue, 50% stripes (typically in those colors as well), and deep reds, army greens, and various neutrals are sprinkled throughout. I don't were too many pop's of color unless they are in statement necklaces or scarves. I practically hoard striped shirts. A girl can never have too many! And the same can be said of long sweaters. I included the army vest very intentionally, because I wear mine at least once a week. It goes with everything! Especially with a stripe ;)

My jewelry is mostly gold to match my grandma's ring, the only jewelry that I consistently wear, and I would wear boots everyday of the year if I could get away with it (aka if summer wasn't so darn hot in Texas!). Cowboy boots, booties, leather boots, fringe, I've got a fun mix that I can't wait to break out at the end of the month.

The Tieks pictured on the left are a wish list item. They're something I'm hoping to slowly add to my wardrobe during the next year, as I have heard such great things about their comfort and durability. I have several pairs of flats from Payless that have run their course.  And they would be a great sandal alternative! Besides, I broke TWO different pairs of sandals on the first day of school, so this girl is in need of an upgrade.

As far as a trend I'm avoiding, I am really NOT a fan of how cropped all of the shirts seem to be these days. They do NOT work in my favor. But I AM a fan of the high-waisted jean trend that has followed or partnered with them. Now that is something I can get behind!

What do you think? Any other stripe or army vest fanatics?
Now your turn: What's your style?
