BLOG-TEMBER DAY 2 | An Ideal Day

WOW WOW WOW. Over one hundred and fifteen of you wonderful ladies joined the challenge yesterday! I was expecting 30-40 and you BLEW MY MIND! I am doing my best to say hello to everyone, but goodness gracious there are just so many of you, which is a GREAT problem to have! Now onto today's topic :)

Wednesday, September 2: Describe your ideal day. Where would you go and what would you do?

What would be included in an ideal day, you ask? Oh wait, I asked didn't I? ;) My ideal day would very much depend on where I was and who I was with, but since I'm picking my own conditions I think I'll throw the lot together.

An ideal day would include sleeping in, naturally, waking up on my own instead of to the sound of a blaring alarm clock. However, I wouldn't want to sleep the day away. There is too much to do! But slow mornings around my apartment are something I truly delight in. Listening to music, making breakfast, journaling and painting before the rest of the day gets rolling.

After breakfast, I'd head to the farmers market. If only I really could pop back to Seattle for the market each Saturday, or even down to Waco for the growing one at Baylor. I love looking through all the fresh flowers, being in the hustle and bustle, wandering leisurely with friends, meeting the venders. Next in this ideal day? A coffee date with gals from college or my blogging friends. I'm also never opposed to camping out at a bookstore or Starbucks on my own to read a good book or journal.

If I really get to choose what this IDEAL day would hold, can I go ahead and call it a dream day to say it would include something like a Baylor football game  or a trip to Disneyland? I know, I know, there's lots of travel going on here, but it's my day right? Even if I can't travel across the country at will, I would love an outing with friends, getting together to do something fun. Froyo date, boardgames, park day, what have you. The options are endless. But that would also require bringing in my friends from across the country, so travel apparently is a necessity ;)

By the way, this ideal day would be in the fall. Crisp, slightly overcast but still bright, the trees every shade of yellow, red, and orange. Dinner would be all comfort foods or 5:00 on the dot at Nanny & Pop's. I don't think an ideal day could be complete without Nanny's spaghetti. And finally, an ideal day would mean a show. I am always looking for chances to see national tours of musicals or a local production. If you ever want to catch one, let me know!

An ideal day? Wouldn't that be nice. Whether or not they are achievable right now, making this post reminds me of the smaller joys and little pieces I can celebrate along the way. Even if a day includes only one of these I would call it a success.

Now how about you? What is your ideal day?
