A Midsummer Night's Dream

Last night, I was reminded why I do what I do and why I love theatre so much. I know without a shadow of a doubt that this is what I am meant to do for the rest of my life. I saw Baylor Theatre's production of A Midsummer Night's Dream last night for the first time and I was absolutely blown away. The show is beautiful, the actors are brilliant, and I want to see it again and again!

First and foremost I was blown away by the beauty and wildness of the fairies. The costumes were stunning, their movement flawless, and the ambiance and mood they brought to the show was incredible. It has been so interesting to watch the transformation of my friends into these other-worldly creatures.

Below are my friends Emily and Josh in their costumes and make up for Titania the fairy queen and Robin Goodfellow or Puck, the fairy king's right hand man... er, fairy.

I am so proud to know and support such incredible designers. They bring so much to each production, giving themselves to collaboration and creation of marvelous sets, costumes, and lighting designs. Below are pictures from our newspaper of the production. Ah, I wish you all could see it in person!

Isn't it gorgeous? Aren't THEY gorgeous?! I am still in awe of this show. I may have to see it again tomorrow :)
