InstaFriday; The Easter Bunny's Wake

After a four-day-weekend, I must say coming back to college and getting into a routine wasn't as easy as I thought it would be. Especially with only three weeks of classes left. But going home for an extended amount of time was exactly what I needed. I was more than happy to spend the Easter holiday with my family :)

1. Mitchell is the best little brother a girl could ask for. He is such a treat to be around, so mellow and sweet. I miss him so much while I'm at school. This weekend we watched Transformers three times and played plenty of xbox and nintendo games. Well, he played and I watched. He still needs to learn how to share the controller.

2. His best friend Zach came over several time this weekend, and while I was on kid-duty they planted themselves on the couch with Shelby and Mom's ipads playing angry birds and other games. They are both quite competitive, but so quiet about it. The most precious things, too!

3. After the annual Easter egg hunt, we had to hunt around the house for our "Easter Bunny" gifts. This year mine included a new mouse for my laptop and a $25 gift card to Starbucks. The packaging on that thing was ridiculous! I almost couldn't get it open. But I put the card to work as soon as I got back to campus, don't you worry.

4. My home is full of pictures, large ones and small ones, hung and set all over every room. It would take hours to examine them all. I stumbled across this one from Easter 2008. Aren't we cute?

5. Pop's 77th birthday was last Wednesday, so Easter dinner was a joint celebration. We cake and ice cream during which he opened his gift and cards. Last year he convinced Mitchell to get my dad a Transformer for his birthday, so this year we pulled the trick back on him and gave him Pokemon cards. He actually might have been more excited than Mitchell to open them. It was hilarious to watch when he realized what happened.

6. Our favorite part of the Easter egg hunt are the quarters tucked in each one. This year, Nanny put gummy bears in the eggs for Mitchell, but didn't want them to get dirty because of the coins. So what did she do? She wrapped the coins in aluminum foil, that's what. Needless to say we had a great laugh unwrapping all of our quarters.

7. Reminiscing through my journal led me to some scriptures that have been quite the encouragement this week. This one is Psalm 16:11. "You will make known to me the path of life. In your presence is fullness of joy; in your right hand there are pleasures forever more."

8. Lastly, I already shared that I took my sister's senior pictures this weekend. I've been editing a few more this week and am really still taken aback by how beautiful she is and how much she's grown up! Plus, Photoshop brings me endless joy. Add a little RadLab and I'm a truly happy camper.
